Hearing the word 'cancer' can knock the wind out of you. I know, because I've been there. You don't have to figure this out alone, and you don't have to be strong every minute.
Take a breath, sister.
We're going to walk this with you.

Action items:
  • Write your questions down before every appointment — your mind will go blank in the room
  • Bring someone with you & record your appointment so you can remember everything discussed.
  • Ask for a copy of your pathology report in writing.
  • Know that a second opinion is your right, not an insult to your doctor.
  • Let The Pink Lady send you a care package — you don't have to ask twice
5 starter questions:
  • What subtype of breast cancer do I have, and what stage is it?
  • What are all my treatment options, and what do you recommend for me?
  • What side effects should I expect, and how will we manage them?
  • Will this affect my ability to have children, and is there anything we can do now to protect that?
  • Who on my care team can I call when I have questions between visits?
