I was 39 when I heard the words "you have breast cancer." Stage 1, Triple-Negative.  After my lumpectomy, I learned things nobody tells you. Like the fact that you need a different bra. Small thing. Nobody mentioned it. I was figuring out my whole life and a bra fitting at the same time.

Triple-Negative meant chemo wasn't optional. And chemo meant something else — my hair, my body, my secret, would not stay a secret much longer. Then a dear friend sewed me a port pillow — something soft to protect my chest from the seatbelt and the side of a chair during chemo. It was a small gift. But it told me somebody saw what I was carrying. That pillow is where The Pink Lady started.

WHAT WE BUILT
What began as one port pillow is now a full nonprofit. The Pink Lady sends free care packages to women across the country fighting breast cancer — packages built for exactly where you are: chemo, mastectomy, or radiation. Each one comes with tools, comfort items, and the kind of tips only another survivor would think to include.

Businesses, churches, health fairs, sororities and fraternities — wherever women gather, we show up to teach early detection, self-exams, and non-toxic living. And we proudly distribute Knitted Knockers, handmade prostheses for women who haven't had reconstruction.

This work has been recognized by the Pine Belt Sales & Marketing Professionals, Mu Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Hattiesburg Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and the Lambda Kappa Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.

The Pink Lady exists because somebody once made sure I didn't go through this alone.
Now we do the same for you.
